While I agree with some of what Bikerchic had posted, I'll tell you from experience that if you are divided spiritually, you will be divided in every aspect of your relationship, especially if one is a jw. Sounds like he might need some counseling to release his inner hatred toward the faith.
I know it's hard, but right now you need to concentrate on you and your young ones. They will need you now more than ever. If you have been together for 10 years, nothing new is going to happen. You have to decide what is best for you. Leaving a spouse because of the faith is hard, but trust me, in the end you'll be better off and you’ll have an inner peace without him in the picture.

For me ... elders caring about the 'flock' ... that is the biggest joke of all. Unless you have achieved the 'rank' of elder or m.s. in the cong. ... you are a nobody ... that will never change ...

Fluff - what would you do?
by serendipity in.
if some rich relative died and left you a fortune, what would you do with your life and why?

Dis-association letter
by Suzie inok, i have thought about it too long and hard and came to the conclusion that this really is something that i want to do!
i don't know exactly how to write my letter to dis-associate myself and exactly who i should send it too.
i was readding somethings before that had talked about people sending a copy to there old friends to let them know as well.

Excellent thoughts jgnat!
Having been an m.s. at one time and close to several elders (knowing stuff I shouldn't have) a simple letter stating that you no longer are a jw usually is enough. The only announcement that is usually made is that 'so and so has disassociated themselves and is no longer a jw'.
This is a very brave step and I admire your courge. Best of luck! -

What is the ONE word that describes you best?
by In Between inwas thinking about this today while heading' down the road and thought it might be a fun topic.
if you break it down to the simplest degree, and i'm not necessarily talking about 'qualities' here ... but what one word, noun, adverb or adjective would you say describes you best?
for me: passion

I dont want to face death
by LovesDubs ini just heard that two of the fathers of childhood friends of mine, one of them the first boy i ever loved, and the other the head of a good catholic family with eight kids who lived across the street from us, died within days of each other.
im my mind, those families are frozen in time about 35 years ago when i last saw any of them, and i couldnt conceive of them being gone.. i dont know why but those two men being gone really got to me.
i wasnt close to them or anything but it brought home the very real thought that my own parents are going to go soon...and leave me and my two sibs on the planet to carry on.

Great thoughts Stealth ... Lovesdubs, sorry for this difficult time. I know the older I get, the more the thought that my life is more than half over (if I follow the national average) wears on me.
